Suffolk Cambridge Society
The Rt Revd Martin Seeley, Bishop of St Edmundsbury and Ipswich on Thursday 21st November
We hope you will be able to join us at Bury St Edmunds Cathedral on Thursday 21st November for a talk by The Rt Revd Martin Seeley, Bishop of St Edmundsbury and Ipswich. We are delighted that Martin (Jesus 1972), who is a fellow member of the Suffolk Cambridge Society, has agreed to give us a reflective talk on his ministry in the Church of England and as our Bishop since 2015. Martin has been a Lord Spiritual member of the House of Lords since March 2022. Martin is due to retire next year and we are very grateful that he has been able to reserve time in what will be a very busy period for him over the next few months.
Martin graduated from Cambridge in 1976 and entered Ripon College Cuddeston to study for ordained ministry. He then attended Union Theological Seminary, New York City, from which he graduated with a Master of Sacred Theology (STM) degree in 1978. In October 2018, he received the honorary degree of Doctor of Divinity from Berkeley Divinity School at Yale, New Haven.
The programme for the event is;
