At The Longshed Gallery on the Waterfront, Woodbridge IP12 1FP for a talk by Andrew Casey on;

Pioneering Women Designers from the Twentieth Century’

Andrew Casey is a Design Historian and Artist specialising in 20th century design, particularly ceramics and textiles. He is the author of several books including Susie Cooper and Art Deco ceramics in Britain. We hope that there will be an opportunity to purchase some of his books.

Andrew will explore how design and women were viewed and promoted over the decades of the 20th century, focusing on two innovative female designers Susie Cooper (ceramicist) and Lucienne Day (textile designer).

The programme for the visit is;

10.30am: Tea, coffee and biscuits at the Longshed Gallery, Woodbridge Waterfront.

11.15 am: Lecture by Andrew Casey:

12.45 /1pm: Two course lunch at the Boathouse Restaurant on Woodbridge Waterfront IP12 1FP overlooking the River Deben and the Tide Mill. The Boathouse Restaurant is adjacent to the Longshed Gallery.

After lunch – you are free to explore the Woodbridge waterfront: home to Woodbridge Museum, the Tide Mill and the Sutton Hoo Ship project. Alternatively you may like to walk into the town and explore the shops.
